In 1973, Mr. Krishan M. Kshetry, an Indian resident set up engineering and maintenance firm, named Utility Equipment Management Inc. in Florida, United States of America. The firm undertook work of operations and maintenance of water treatment plants in USA. The operations of Utility Equipment Management Inc. were stopped in 1984.
In 1984, Mr. Krishan M. Kshetry came back to India and along with Late Mr. P.C Khannah founded UEM India (UEM-India) to cater to the Indian market for water treatment and waste water management systems.
In 1991, Mr. Krishan M. Kshetry incorporated a new entity named UEM Inc., USA to explore, expand its services in overseas market. UEM Inc. USA expanded its services over years to include setting-up of Sewage Treatment Plants in South and Central Florida.
Considering the growing potential of the Indian market Mr. Krishan M. Kshetry shifted to New Delhi in 2004.
In 2010, UEM India acquired UEM Inc. USA through its wholly owned subsidiary in Mauritius and the Group is known as UEM Group having its corporate office at Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
